August Movie Night
Facilitated by Rev. Linda
Young & Restless in China
Friday, August 22nd- 7 pm
It is important for those of us in the West to understand
the changing dynamics of China today. We offer this
movie as a way of gaining insight and bringing awareness
to the contemporary development of today’s
emerging China. Please join us.
“A riveting and poignant journey, Young & Restless in
China tracks the lives of nine ambitious young Chinese
professionals who are struggling to make it in this very
tumultuous and rapidly changing society. Whether it’s
defying Eastern cultural traditions in pursuit of more
Western values, struggling through the (often erratic)
government protocols to start a new business, or
fighting to preserve the environment, this new generation
of twenty-and thirty-somethings is caught between
the bonds of their nation’s history and their own
quest for a very different future. Narrated by ER star
Ming Wen, Young & Restless in China captures the
coming-of-age of China’s most dynamic generation in
ways as intimately familiar as they are decidedly new.”

Dramatic World Changes Imminent
Dr. George Catlin, author and lecturer, who will be speaking in Santa Barbara on August 31, asserts that the world is on the threshold of a genuine transformation of its most basic structures. He says, “Our current model is based on a sense of separation and competition. Very soon we will know beyond all doubt that we are inwardly connected to everything, and that will profoundly affect all that we do.”
Dr. Catlin cites the dramatic rise in non-sectarian spirituality as the first sign of what is to come. Regarding the future, he claims, “Very soon we will see a group of extraordinary individuals emerge on the planet who will voice the yearnings of all human hearts: the desire for peace, justice, and sharing. As we respond to their call for right human relations, we will remake the world.”
In Catlin’s view, all forms of modern society are ripe for change: “Education, commerce, politics….you name it. All our structures are the result of our past understanding, and that understanding is about to change. We will soon see that only through cooperation can we survive, and only through cooperation will we ever find real joy. God/Spirit/the One really exists, and when we consciously participate in that one life, we find personal and collective fulfillment.”
Dr. Catlin, author of The Way to Happiness and The Long Journey Home will speak at the Unity Church of Santa Barbara, 227 E Arrellaga St, Santa Barbara on Sunday, August 31 at the 9:00 am & 11:00 am Services, followed by a 1:00 pm Workshop. All presentations are free and all are invited to attend. For more information call 805-966-2239 or visit www.TheTeachings.org

quantum incubator for reality, everything is
possible….To unleash the power of this matrix
in our lives, we must understand how it works
and speak the language it recognizes.” Greg
Braden has traveled to the remote monasteries
of Egypt, Peru, and Tibet, he has studied
the forgotten texts that were edited by the
early Christian church…in this book he shares
what he’s found. Through 20 keys of conscious
creation, we’re shown how to translate
the miracles of our imagination into what is
real in our lives. Join us for our Thursday book
study – you’re always welcome.
September Movie Night
Facilitated by Rev. Linda
Friday, September 19th, 7 pm
Spirit Space: A Journey Into Your Consciousness
Starring: Dr. Fred Alan Wolf, Theoretical Physicist;
Don Miguel Ruiz, Author of The Four Agreements; and
Edgar Mitchell, Astronaut. Allow yourself to travel
further down the quantum rabbit hole in a quest for
answers to age old questions. Discover remarkable
possibilities as to what and how our consciousness
works with the world around us. Listen to possibilities
of what happens to our consciousness before and after
death. This film acts as a progressive travel log for
human life attempting to answer questions that mankind
has been seeking since the dawn of thought. What
were we before we came here? Why do we need to be
here? And what in the world happens to us after we die?
Spirit Space also opens cases from individuals who
have been hypnotically regressed to a point between
lives—after death, and even before birth. Not only does
the film grapple with reincarnation, the spirit world, and
the nature of the human soul it also tackles equally
sticky questions such as “Is there a Heaven and Hell?”
and, “What is a spirit?”
